Enabling a Smooth Technical Refresh: On-Time Laptop Delivery for Treasury’s Office of Inspector General

Overview
In September, Contragenix, representing an SBA 8(a) certified small business, was awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of Inspector General (OIG), to supply Dell laptops and workstations in support of a broader IT modernization initiative. The project required strict adherence to federal accessibility and security requirements, a rapid fulfillment timeline, and a zero-disruption deployment. Contragenix delivered on all fronts—early, compliant, and risk-free.
Client Objective
The OIG sought to replace outdated equipment with modern, secure devices while ensuring continuity in operations. The project’s primary goals were:
-
Procurement of Dell Latitude 5450 laptops and Precision 5490 workstations
-
Full compliance with Section 508 accessibility requirements
-
Minimization of risk during the hardware transition
-
Completion ahead of critical operational deadlines
Challenge
The project presented several requirements that had to be met without compromise:
-
Compliance-Driven Hardware: Devices needed to conform to federal security, configuration, and accessibility standards
-
Short Fulfillment Timeline: Delivery and deployment had to be completed before Q1 2024.
-
Procurement Documentation: Proposal had to include VPATs, OEM authorization, detailed pricing, and past performance.
-
Minimal Operational Impact: The device replacement process had to avoid downtime for end users.
How Contragenix Managed the Project
1. How Contragenix Managed the Project
Contragenix began by selecting Dell laptop and workstation models that fully aligned with the agency’s technical and cybersecurity standards. Leveraging its authorized supplier status, Contragenix ensured that only pre-approved, compliant hardware was included—minimizing sourcing risks and accelerating procurement.
2. Development of a Fully Compliant Proposal
We assembled a complete response package that met all federal solicitation requirements. This included VPATs for accessibility compliance, OEM authorization letters, detailed pricing, and validated past performance examples. By proactively addressing documentation needs, Contragenix reduced the likelihood of delays during the evaluation process.
3. Procurement, Quality Control, and Logistics Oversight
Once awarded, Contragenix oversaw the full lifecycle of hardware acquisition. Devices were procured, inspected, and pre-configured to ensure readiness upon arrival. Internal logistics systems were used to track order status and coordinate directly with Treasury OIG stakeholders, maintaining full transparency and delivery accountability. ckage that met all federal solicitation requirements.
